The CAps Off Brewery Story

The Caps Off Brewery is based in County Durham in the industrial North East of England. Ali opened a bottle shop and micropub and then teamed up with lifelong friend David to open the brewery and onsite taproom in 2020.

The folks at the brewery are looking forward to bringing you a wide variety of hop-forward beers, big stouts and fruity little numbers. The next few months will see the start of our barrel ageing project and wild fermentation programme.

PS – don’t feed the bear!

OUR BEERS

IPA
5.0%

We’ve dry-hopped this IPA with hefty amounts of Azacca hops, Rakau and Centennial for a resinous citrus twang, with added wheat for a light, full-bodied base.

Pale Ale
4.3%

Traditional pale malt bill gives a light but full-bodied feel to this hoppy session pale. With no bittering hops at the start of the boil, the Caps Off Pale Ale is an all-day beer dry hopped with Chinook, Amarillo, Rakau and Azacca.

Lager
4.4%

We use 100% Pilsner malt and a combination of Saaz, Hallertauer Mittelfrueh & Azacca hops to give our lager its traditional yet modern flavours. Allowing the yeast to work its magic at the low temperatures, this beer is lagered for 12 weeks to develop the crisp, traditional taste

Milk Stout
5.1%

We use 100% Pilsner malt and a combination of Saaz, Hallertauer Mittelfrueh & Azacca hops to give our lager its traditional yet modern flavours. Allowing the yeast to work its magic at the low temperatures, this beer is lagered for 12 weeks to develop the crisp, traditional taste
